“This Too Shall Pass” (James 5:13 Reflection)

James 5:13 – “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises.”

For those who have faced the pain of parental alienation, you know all too well the suffering it brings. The silence, the waiting, the feeling of walls closing in — it can test even the strongest heart. In those moments, hope can seem far away, and the darkness around us can feel consuming.

But brothers and sisters, our calling is to keep fighting — to seek the Light that still shines, even when we can’t see it clearly. That light is Christ, and it represents the hope and the plan that God still has for each of us.

This too shall pass. Scripture reminds us that God’s plans are often unseen but always purposeful. When the weight feels unbearable, the Lord asks us to lay our burdens at His feet. Pray for strength. Ask for endurance. Even one small step forward is progress, and each step brings you closer to the moment when the burden lifts and the promise appears.

God truly has a plan for you — even if you can’t yet see it. Through our struggles, He teaches us the most profound lessons. Think back: the hardest moments often shaped the strongest parts of who you are. Pain, waiting, loss — these are the fires in which faith is refined.

You are not alone. God walks beside you through every storm, even when you can’t feel His presence. When it feels impossible to take another step, pause and pray. He will show you the way forward.

You are stronger than you think. Look at how far you’ve already come — and remember: no destination is ever reached without movement, even if the journey is made one slow step at a time.

“He will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers.” – Malachi 4:6
